You may have wondered at some point in your life if it's possible to watch a high-resolution video on a low-resolution monitor? Or specifically, if you can watch a 1440p video on a 1080p monitor, or maybe even a 4k video on a 1080p monitor?
To test how 1440p video looks on a 1080p monitor, I played an animal video on a 1080p monitor, then switched the resolution between 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, and took some screenshots. Check out the images below to see the difference between a 1080p, 1440p, and 4K video on a 1080p monitor.

There is nothing wrong with 1080p video, gaming, or photo editing. After all, it's still Full HD, and the majority of people haven't made the jump to 1440p or other larger resolutions. Still, there is no doubt that 1440p video or gaming provides a better visual experience than 1080p. You can even see the difference in the screenshots above.
And, of course, you can absolutely watch a 1440p video on a 1080p screen. It might make it look that little bit better, too, but you won't get the full 1440p experience as there are simply not enough pixels.
Current industry standards advocate 1440p rather than 1080p for most experienced users like gamers. Since the user should sit no closer than three feet (or 90 cm) away from the monitor, we propose a 27 inches wide display with a 240-hertz refresh rate instead of 144 hertz.
Moving up to 1440p is like taking two steps ahead and one back in video performance since the slower refresh rate of a higher resolution monitor is standard without screen tearing. There are many 1440p displays available with refresh rates over 150Hz, but for smooth gameplay without motion blur, you need a 120Hz refresh rate.
In addition, varied viewing distances are considered while designing these resolutions. A 3.2ft distance between your face and a 1080p display is recommended for the best visual quality and most minor strain on your eyes.
When playing at 1440p, that distance is reduced to 2.6ft, thus depending on your preferred method of gameplay like XBOX series X and the size of your gaming rig, one may be more appropriate than the other.
So what does this mean for the difference between a 1080p resolution and a 1440p resolution? Well, at 1440p, the image still looks smooth due to the higher PPI. However, because there are three times as many pixels on the display as at 1080p, objects onscreen look noticeably sharper. This is why most monitors with a 1440p resolution also have a higher PPI than those with a 1080p resolution.
Your AMD GPU and CPU work together to produce a higher frame rate, but your native resolution makes it possible. You can get more frames per second on a monitor with a lower resolution, such as refresh rates. There is more pixel density to manage, and more pixels mean a more important job on your GPU; thus, whatever frame rate your system gets at 1080p will be almost half when you raise settings to 1440p.
When it comes to graphics performance, higher resolutions result in smoother textures and crisper images. This is due to the increased number of pixels onscreen at any given time. In general, 1080p provides a more stable framerate than 1440p. However, many games actually perform better on 1440p than on 1080p.
On the other hand, if money is no object, consider OLED or IPS displays with fast refresh rates and minimal latency. However, if money is an issue, a 1440p 60Hz TN panel is preferable to a 1080p 60Hz TN panel.
HDTV high-definition video modes known as 1080p (also known as Full HD, FHD, and BT.709) consist of 1,920 horizontal and 1,080 vertical pixels, and the p stands for the progressive scan, which means they are non-interlaced.
ATSC and DVB standards in the United States and Europe enable 1080p video transmissions. Television broadcasts, Blu-ray discs, cellphones, Internet material including YouTube videos and Netflix TV episodes and movies, consumer-grade TVs and projectors, computer displays, and gaming consoles all use the 1080p standard. 1080p video and still images can be captured with various devices, including compact camcorders, smartphones, and digital cameras.
The visual quality of a full HD projector is unaffected by the surface on which it is being used. Clear viewing of conventional projectors typically necessitates specialized screens or white walls. With 1080p projectors, this is not the case. On any clear surface, you may still have a pleasant viewing experience.
An example of a 1440-pixel-wide video display resolution is known as 1440p. A progressive scan, or non-interlaced video, is denoted by the p. Double the vertical resolution of 720p, the 1440 pixel vertical resolution is one-third (approximately 33.3%) higher than 1080p.
You may show 1440p video at 19201440 or greater resolutions such as QXGA or 23041440 via scaling, windowbox, pillarboxing, or other methods. As a whole, 1440P will not benefit every player. Competition-level players on a tighter budget may be better served by an HD 144Hz HD 1080p display. A 4K 60Hz display may be a better choice for gamers who love to play visually attractive games.
The best gaming resolution for competitive players is 1080p. In other words, although the game may appear better on a 1440P or 4K display, the overall experience is better if the refresh rate is increased rather than the screen resolution.
Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you'll be doing in the stream. During the event, monitor the stream health and review messages.
Youtube recommends sending videos with high bitrates but after several tests I have verified that it does not change the quality beyond a certain bitrate, it is more important the quality of the source of acquisition rather than the bitrate.
From full HD 1080p to which Youtube reserves 4 mbits at 2K 1440p there is an increase in bitrate up to 9mbits, which means that YOUTUBE assigns 2K a high bitrate and therefore higher quality, when you open a video on Youtube in the standard window, with standard size, choose 1440p instead of 1080p will bring a much better viewing ! So if you want a quality HD video to send your videos on youtube at least 2K at 25601440 resolution, the 4K is obviously even better but is very slow both in adsl upload and on-screen display as it requires a powerful CPU and a next generation video card. 2K is the best compromise.

Therefore, we can say that H.265 is the latest and most advanced video compression standard created to provide greater encoding efficiency and better video quality. It allows you to compress video at double the data rate with half the bit rate to maintain the same video quality and also reduce by half the space it occupies with respect to H.264.
To do this, it has done several tests with the AreWeCompressedYet tool, where it has compared coded content with libvpx (VP9), x265 and SVT-AV1, where a result of 0.1 implies that each pixel uses 0.1 bits. A video at 1080p at 30 fps would use 6.25 Mbps following that measure.
For x265 and libvpx the highest quality modes were used, in addition to using the slowest compression possible to obtain the best result. The result is that SVT-AV1 was better in the fastest and slowest modes, offering better quality with fewer errors according to this objective measure. AV1 has several compression modes, with enc-mode 8 being the fastest and enc-mode 0 the slowest.
Before we get into the details of how we test, let's first talk about the causes of input lag. Three main factors contribute to the input lag on the TV: acquiring the source image, processing the image, and displaying it.
Now, let's talk about how we measure the input lag. It's a rather simple test because everything is done by our dedicated photodiode tool and special software. We use this same tool for our response time tests, but it measures something differently with those. For the input lag, we place the photodiode tool at the center of the screen because that's where it records the data in the middle of the refresh rate cycle, so it skews the results to the beginning or end of the cycle. We connect our test PC to the tool and the TV. The tool flashes a white square on the screen and records the amount of time it takes until the screen starts to change the white square; this is an input lag measurement. It stops the measurement the moment the pixels start to change color, so we don't account for the response time during our testing. It records multiple data points, and our software records an average of all the measurements, not considering any outliers.
Some people may confuse our response time and our input lag tests. For input lag, we measure the time it takes from when the photodiode tool sends the signal to when it appears on-screen. We use flashing white squares, and the tool stops the measurement the moment the screen changes color so that it doesn't include the response time measurement. As for the response time test, we use grayscale slides, and this test is to measure the time it takes to make a full transition from one gray shade to the next.
